CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

This Page: Archie Jenkins and Colin Youngson                      Then we have: Bobby Young            Graham Getty

All athletes know what races meant most to them: it is not always the ones with the biggest pay day or the major title attached:  races have different meanings for different people.   Hence this page.   It started out as the most memorable races that an athlete had done and then started to spread to medals won, vests gained and achievements that might not fit into any category but mean something to the runner.   I'll start with the popular runner from Morpeth who won medals with Edinburgh AC in the 80's and is now winning them as a vet with Cambuslang.   It is of course Archie Jenkins and this is his own view of his career highlights of which I can only say he is quite justly proud.

ARCHIE JENKINS

The next athlete is a real student of the event but where people described as 'students of the event' tend to be enthusiastic runners who would always get an A for Effort but seldom a medal for results Colin has done it all at Scottish level.   I won't attempt to go into detail - there is plenty below!   So I give you - Colin J Youngson!

COLIN YOUNGSON

The above is a short summary of a marvellous career and does not a lot to illustrate just exactly how good he was or what a level of consistency he achieved.  For that we have to go to his list of his own Top Fifty races in his career so far.

All from a 'teabag of talent!'    All's I can say is "some teabag!"
