With so many different categories on the website it is maybe right to indicate just where each of the profiles can be found.    The trouble is that we are dealing with runners from before the days of the ubiquitous 10K.    There are actually runners now who only run 10K's!   Our subjects were almost all runners on track, road, country and hills who either specialised in or were particularly talented in one branch or the other.   On this page, find your athlete and then go back up to the blue hyperlink at the top of the page, click on it and you will be taken to the page on which he or she will be found.    For instance, if you are looking for Ian Stewart, consult the table and go back up to 'Elite Endurance' and you will find him there.
